Day 7: Science, Soccer, Presentation Practice!

This is pretty much what it looks like here - clouds come and go with the ever-blustery wind!

Today not a whole lot happened. The day was mostly dedicated to our science projects and coconuts. The day started with the typical morning hike to breakfast. Some of us had a coconuts, which we happily carried all around the campus this morning. After breakfast, we worked on our projects (no spoilers). At 10:30am, everyone gathered out in the field for a game of football (soccer). The game was intense. Beth took a few epic falls, Lucas scored a goal on his own team, Annabelle got nailed in the head by Beth, and Lucas was struck down (again) by the soccer ball. In the middle of the game, we were joined by a skilled landscaper clad in rubber boots. We have never seen anyone wearing boots move that fast. The rain began to pour down near the end of the game, leaving the seventeen players drenched with water, sweat, and mud.

Some members of the group hiked back to the Cabinas to shower and change into dry clothes, which didn't stay dry for long. After a lunch of rice and beans, Amogh acquired a hammer under suspicious circumstances. He used said hammer to whack open our coconuts and pour the fresh coconut water into cups.

We carried spoons and the remnants of our fruits to the Chachalaca classroom, where we finished up our projects. We presented our (almost) finished posters to Gabriel, who talked a lot about font sizes. All we have left to do now is practice! We present tomorrow morning at 9am. Wish us luck...
